Established in 1985, R. Swindell and Sons Limited have been a market leader in the UK animal bedding industry for over 40 years, collecting, processing, and distributing thousands of tonnes of sawdust and woodshavings each year.

The company first started when Richard and Cher began bagging shavings by hand and selling them to other local farmers – alongside running their own pig and cattle farm full-time. Since then, we have grown into one of the country’s leading bulk bedding suppliers – and the business has remained in the family ever since.

As farmers ourselves, we understand that your animal’s comfort and welfare is paramount. This is why we offer a bespoke consultation with all of our customers to ensure they get the most suitable, high quality and good value bedding for their needs – whether that be for cattle, poultry, equine, or other livestock.

We regularly supply our products direct to farmers throughout the UK, with customers ranging from local, family-run businesses through to mega-dairies and chicken farms.

We operate a modern, expanding fleet of articulated vehicles, with specialist walking floors, filtration skips, and trailers.

Surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, our main depot is centrally located to enable us to provide a nationwide service.
